Repent, because

It is
better to go to a house of mourning
than to go to a house of feasting,
for death is the destiny of every man;
the living should take this to heart.
The
heart of the wise is in the house of mourning,
but the heart of fools is in the house of
pleasure.
"The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He
thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.'
"Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns
and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
And I'll say to myself, "You have
plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be
merry." '
"But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will
be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'
"This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things
for himself but is not rich toward God."
What
good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world,
yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Paul and Silas
replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your
household."
Jesus
said, "If you love me, you
will obey what I command.
Jesus
said, “He who does not love me
will not obey my teaching.
This
is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands
are not burdensome,
But if
anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him.
This is how we know we are in him:
"Not
everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but
only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Many
will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many
miracles?'
Then I
will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you
evildoers!'
And
God spoke all these words:
"I
am the LORD your God, who brought you out of
"You
shall have no other gods before me.
"You
shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or
on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or
worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children
for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate
me, but showing love to a thousand of those who love me and keep my
commandments.
"You
shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold
anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
"Remember
the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your
work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall
not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or
maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days
the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but
he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and
made it holy.
"Honor
your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD
your God is giving you.
"You
shall not murder.
"You
shall not commit adultery.
"You
shall not steal.
"You
shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
"You
shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's
wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs
to your neighbor."
"Teacher,
which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and
with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second
is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang
on these two commandments."
Jesus
said, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets;
I have
not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
I tell
you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not
the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear
from the Law until everything is accomplished.
Anyone
who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the
same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and
teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
This
calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God's
commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.
